❤️💛🖤 VACCA – Connected by Culture, Celebrating Community 🌈
Strong Culture. Strong Families. Strong Communities.
Some of the most meaningful moments in our Mermaidia Braids journey have come from the incredible people and communities we've had the privilege of meeting along the way.
The Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency (VACCA) is an extraordinary Aboriginal community-controlled organisation dedicated to protecting, supporting and empowering Aboriginal children, young people and families throughout Victoria.
Since 1977, VACCA has championed the importance of cultural identity, family connections, community strength and ensuring Aboriginal children grow up proud of who they are and where they belong.
At Mermaidia Braids, we've been fortunate to share some beautiful moments at VACCA community events, meeting wonderful families and seeing the excitement and happiness that a little colour and creativity can bring.
For us, these experiences are about so much more than creating beautiful hairstyles. They're about connection, kindness, inclusion and the joy of making someone smile.
We are incredibly grateful for the opportunities we've had to participate in these community celebrations and for the warm welcome we've received.
Because sometimes the most beautiful thing we create isn't a hairstyle — it's a memory. ❤️
Thank you, VACCA, for the extraordinary work you do in strengthening families, celebrating culture and building brighter futures for Aboriginal children and communities.
