Newcastle Show 2025 (Mermaidia Braids attendance unconfirmed)

  • Newcastle Showgrounds Brown Road Broadmeadow, NSW, 2292 Australia (map)

The Newcastle Agricultural Show is one of NSW’s largest and oldest regional events, held annually at the Newcastle Showground in Broadmeadow. First staged in 1902, it blends traditional agricultural competitions—like livestock parades, horse jumping, and woodchopping—with modern attractions such as carnival rides, stunt shows, fireworks, and live entertainment.

It runs for three days (usually late February to early March) and features:

  • Agriculture Pavilion: Livestock and produce judging.

  • Hall of Industry: Art, photography, crafts, and cooking exhibits.

  • Family fun: Animal nursery, camel and pig races, sideshow alley, and over 200 showbags.

  • Special events: Fireworks, Hot Wheels stunt show, and community performances.

The show draws tens of thousands of visitors and is a major celebration of where city meets country in the Hunter region.
