Our Third Year — Bigger Smiles, Brighter Colours & Endless Sparkles!
The Yarrawonga Show has become one of our favourite stops on the Mermaidia Braids calendar, and 2025 absolutely reminded us why. This year was filled with sunshine, laughter, amazing families, colourful braids, and even a friendly alpaca wandering by to check out our stall! From mini besties making heart shapes with their braids, to little festival queens showing off their sparkle, Yarrawonga once again delivered a weekend full of pure magic.

Perfect weather from start to finish! After a chilly Friday last year, the warm sunshine this year made the grounds glow — and so did our colourful braid racks. Saturday’s 21°C was absolutely beautiful and brought families out in huge numbers, ready for a day of fun and festival looks.
👩🎨 Team
Michelle and Michael rolled in with Bubbles and the big pink tent, ready for two full days of sparkles and braiding magic. The good vibes started early with families stopping for photos, kids dancing around the stall, and even an alpaca strolling past to say hello.
From morning sunshine to night-time fireworks, our team brought all the colour, laughter and energy Yarrawonga knows us for — glitter and all.

This year’s highlights included:
✨ Two little braid besties creating a heart shape with their matching festival colours.
✨ A super-happy pink-and-purple princess showing off her Monster Truck shirt and fresh braid.
✨ A fierce little tiger-faced cutie rocking her pastel braids like a mini superstar.
✨ Families gathering around our stall for fireworks while the sky lit up above our pink tent.
✨ Kids lining up at night to check out their glitter scalps glowing under the lights.
✨ And of course — the alpaca visitor casually strolling by like he was part of the Mermaidia Crew!
The laughter, kindness and excitement from every family made this one of our most memorable Yarrawonga weekends yet.
💖 Braids & Ponytails
Both days were packed with colour, and we created so many gorgeous looks:
Bright blue and pink twin braids
Soft pastel festival braids
Sparkly, chunky braid ponytails
Glitter parts that shimmered under the night sky
Clip-in plaits for little ones wanting quick, colourful fun
The creativity from the kids this weekend was incredible — every style felt like its own little masterpiece.
🎆 Fireworks Under the Stars
As the sun went down, Yarrawonga lit up. Our stall glowed with fairy lights and colour, families gathered in front of us, and fireworks exploded perfectly above the Mermaidia tent. There’s nothing quite like braiding hair while golden sparks burst across the sky — pure show magic.
