Royal Canberra Show 2026 – Our Happy Place

There are shows you attend…
And then there are shows that feel like home.

The Royal Canberra Show is absolutely one of ours.

Every single year we circle this one on the calendar. The energy. The scale. The crowds. The colour. It’s big, bold, and beautifully organised — and honestly, the organisers are some of the most supportive, professional and welcoming people we work with.

We love this show. Full stop.

The Vibe

From the moment we roll in and see the rides towering over the grounds, we know it’s going to be huge.

Carnival arms stretching into the sky.
Showbags stacked high.
The hum of thousands of people moving through the gates.

And there we are — Mermaidia Braids set up, ready to sparkle.

Braids, Colour & Confidence

Royal Canberra brings out the bold.

We created:
✨ Long purple-to-pink double braids
✨ Bright blue blends that popped in the sunshine
✨ Rainbow couples braids (yes… we LOVE those!)
✨ Natural hair transformations that turned heads

One of our favourites was watching clients walk away swinging their new braids like they owned the whole showground. That’s the magic — the instant confidence boost.

Holly, The Professional

Holly handled Canberra like the seasoned show dog she is.

Between naps in the car and supervising from under the marquee, she was calm, relaxed, and completely unfazed by the noise.

Royal Canberra is loud — rides, music, crowds — but she takes it all in her stride. Total pro.

The Best Part – Seeing Rainbow Again

Now this… this is the reason Michelle’s heart melts every year.

There’s a beautiful girl named Rainbow who comes back to see us.

And when Michelle saw her again?
Instant smile. Instant hug. Instant happiness.

It’s hard to explain what that means to us. When children return year after year, when they remember us, when they ask for the same colours or something even brighter — that’s not just a sale. That’s a relationship.

Rainbow makes Michelle’s day every single time.

And honestly? Watching that reunion is one of our favourite Royal Canberra moments.

We cannot say this enough — the Royal Canberra Show organisers are incredible.

Professional.
Helpful.
Supportive.

From bump-in to pack-down, everything runs smoothly. For a show of this size, that’s no small feat.

We feel valued. We feel looked after. And that makes a huge difference when you’re working long, busy show days.

Rolling Out

As we packed up and looked back at the lights, the rides, and the crowds, we both said the same thing:

“We’ll be back.”

Royal Canberra isn’t just another stop on the Mermaidia journey. It’s a highlight.
