Kangaroo Valley Show 2026 – Unicorns, Bulls & First-Time Magic

Our very first time attending the Kangaroo Valley Show… and what a way to experience it.

Rolling into Kangaroo Valley felt like stepping into a postcard. Green hills, fresh country air, and that beautiful small-town showground buzz that makes you instantly feel welcome.

And honestly? We knew straight away this one was going to be special.

Weather

Classic country show weather — overcast skies, soft light, and just enough cool breeze to keep everyone comfortable.

Perfect braiding conditions. Perfect wandering-around-the-grounds conditions. And perfect “Michelle meeting mythical creatures” conditions… 👀🦄

Holly Living Her Best Life

Holly set herself up on her mat like the professional show dog she is.

Harness on. Water bucket nearby. Eyes half closed like,
“Yes, I run this place.”

She made friends, supervised customers, and took her role very seriously — especially when snacks were involved.

When the Bulls Came to the Bar…

You know you’re at a proper country show when enormous white bulls casually stroll past the rides.

But when they wandered right up to the bar area?

That was next-level country.

Phones came out. Crowds gathered. And suddenly it was the most Australian thing we’ve ever seen.

Only at Kangaroo Valley.

Classic Showground Fun

Inflatable slides towering over the oval.
Showbags.
Country hats everywhere.
Kids running between rides and animals.

It had that old-school agricultural show feel — relaxed, friendly, community-driven — exactly what we love about adding new shows to our Mermaidia journey.

Michelle Meets Her First Ever Unicorn

Now let’s talk about the real headline moment.

Michelle.
Face paint sparkling.
Rainbow braids flowing.

Standing next to the most beautiful white unicorn you’ve ever seen — draped in flowers, wearing a golden horn, looking straight out of a fairy tale.

You could see it in her face. Pure joy. Pure disbelief. Pure “I am absolutely five years old again right now.”

After years of braiding princesses, mermaids, and unicorn-loving kids…
Michelle finally met one herself.

Dream unlocked.

And yes… there were many photos.

Braids & Sparkle Highlights

We created stunning double braids with deep burgundy blends and glittered parts that shimmered under the grey skies.

One of our favourites was that perfect centre-part double braid — clean, glossy, powerful. The kind of braid that makes you walk a little taller.

There’s something special about a first-time show.

You don’t know what to expect.
You meet brand-new families.
You create new connections.

Kangaroo Valley welcomed us with open arms — and we’re so grateful we finally made it here.

From bulls at the bar to unicorns in the paddock…
This one is going in the memory vault.
