Royal Bathurst Show – Round Three of Braids, Cold Nights & Colourful Vibes! 🎡💖
The Royal Bathurst Show has become one of our favourite events on the Mermaidia Braids calendar, and 2025 marked our third year attending this fabulous fair. From sunny days to freezing nights and lots of familiar faces, this show continues to hold a special place in our sparkly hearts.
Here’s how our magical three-day weekend unfolded…
📅 Friday – 2 May 2025
🌀 Weather: Cold but fine, no wind – 15°C

The show had a slow start, and we weren’t quite sure why. With the government election taking place this weekend, some families may have been out voting – or maybe it was just the chilly temps! Either way, it was noticeably quieter than in 2024, and even slower than 2023. But we stayed positive and kept those braids looking beautiful!

☀️ Weather: Sunny but very cold at night – 18°C

💬 Comments:
What a turnaround! Saturday was amazing – full of sunshine, smiles, and a whole lot of returning clients from previous years. We even hit a new Mermaidia record with a 5-hour wait time between 3pm–8pm!
Michelle also took time to introduce herself to the other festival braider at the event. We believe in supporting each other in the industry – because at the end of the day, it's all about making kids and families feel happy. 💕
Another highlight? Meeting the fabulous Miss Pink, an incredible fairy floss maker with the brightest energy and a love for pink – her matching pink braids made her day, and ours too!

Sunday slowed down again, likely with people wrapping up the weekend and heading home early. But we still enjoyed chatting with the last wave of lovely clients and soaking in those final hours of country show magic.

💫 Final Thoughts
The Royal Bathurst Show 2025 was filled with warmth – not just from the sun, but from the familiar faces, the friendships formed, and the beautiful community that keeps welcoming us back each year.
A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by, waited in our line, danced in the mirror, or simply waved as they walked past. We love Bathurst and we’ll see you again in 2026! 💖
